Amorgos - Cyclades

Amorgos belongs to the island complex of Cyclades and it is its eastern island. The shape of Amorgos is long and narrow, and it slightly resembles a bird.

Amorgos is a romantic destination mainly suited for quiet and relaxation, without meaning that there is no night-life on the island. Amorgos is an especially mountainous island with amazing routes, although this ma be a bit tiresome, especially combined with the great length of Amorgos. You will get the chance to know beautiful scenic little villages, like Tholaria, Lagkada and Potamos which offer great hospitality and unique traditional flavors.

Corfu - Ionian

Corfu belongs to Eptanisa and it is the northern of the large islands of the Ionian Sea. Its shape is long and resembles a scythe. It is a big island, as it is the second largest in the Ionian Sea and the seventh largest in Greece.

Corfu is a popular tourist destination as it has many tourist resorts with dozens of heavenly beaches. There is no way you will manage to visit all the beaches of Corfu, regardless of the number of days you stay on the island. Furthermore, Corfu is only one hour away from the Greek mainland through the port of Igoumenitsa, with an even easier access from north Greece thanks to the new Egnatia highway.

The town of Corfu is scenic and it hosts many attractions, like Pontikonisi, Liston, Spianada (the largest plaza in the Balkans), old churches, impressive mansions, fortresses, various museums, and much more.

Corfu is different from most Greek islands due to its land, which is flat at the most part. It has a lot of vegetation, especially at the north side, while the is a developed road network covering the entire island.

Heraklion - Crete

Heraklion is one of the four prefectures of Crete and it is located between Rethymnon and Lasithi (eastern Crete).

The capital of Heraklion prefecture is the homonymous Heraklion town. Heraklion is not picturesque town but has some strong points and attractions. The powerful Venetian walls of Candia (16th century) are impressive with the major portals that define the old city. At the entrance of the harbor lies the Castle Koules which is open to the public, hosting various exhibitions and performances.

The main feature of Heraklion are the countless attractions and the amazing beaches. The distances on Crete are huge, but by driving you can get to other places on the island. It is a good idea to stay many days, in order to see as much of Crete as you can, although it is impossible to manage to see all of it.

Crete on the whole is an island where you can find whatever you are looking for. There are quiet areas for accommodation and deserted beaches for those who want a peaceful vacation, while there are also cosmopolitan beaches with bustling tourist resorts for intense holidays.

Folegandros - Cyclades

Folegandros is part of the Cyclades island complex and it is one the smallest islands you will ever visit. This means that there are not many things to do and many places to visit, but on the plus sign you will not get tired with distances (10 kilometers is the maximum route on Folegandros). Although it is becoming more and more popular with tourists, the traditional style of Folegandros has been preserved by the locals (no modern buildings, plastic chairs, etc).

The thing that is most special about Folegandros is its main settlement (Chora), due to its incredible beauty and traditional character. The atmospheric alleys, the freshly painted traditional houses and the full of flowers plazas make Folegandros one of the most graphic islands in Greece. The town itself is built on the edge of a 200+ meter high cliff, giving it a great view.

Folegandros has almost no vegetation. It is like a huge and steep rocky mountain coming out of the sea. It is a wild but beautiful landscape, truly breathtaking. That is why it is sometimes referred to as the "iron island".

Ithaca - Ionian

Ithaca is the smallest of the Greek islands of the Ionian Sea, except from Paxoi island, located south of Lefkada and right next to the north part of eastern Kefalonia. Ithaca has a long and narrow shape, while the north part and the south part of Ithaca are connected by a thin strip of land.

Ithaca became famous from Homer, thanks to its resourceful child, Odysseus. For that reason it is known in the whole of Greece as the island of Odysseus. Although there are some doubts, it is commonly accepted that today's Ithaca is actually Homer's Ithaca.

Ithaca is a quiet island filled with green, suitable for tranquility and relaxing time, without being deprived of the nightlife which you will find in Vathy, the capital of Ithaca, and in beautiful Kioni. You will also find several picturesque mountainous villages where tradition and tranquility rule.

Kefalonia - Ionian

Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian, located north of Zante and south of Lefkada island.

Kefalonia is the island of contrast with places and beaches for every taste. There are beaches with pebble, with sand, even with red sand, with green, mountain, etc.

Kefalonia is also the island of mystery, as some of its weird geological phenomena have yet to be explained. There is Kounopetra which was moving on its own until recently, the Katavothres of Argostoli where the sea water disappears, the miracle of Pastra with the dead lilies that bloom again and the snakes of Panagia that appear every year on August 15th are some of the bizarre things that are happening on the island.

Kefalonia is an island filled with green, except perhaps its south-west part, the south part of Paliki area, where there are less trees. At the south side of Kefalonia you can see from a distance Ainos mountain, the so called black mountain. The upper part of the mountain is black due to the presence of a rare type of fir tree which is endogenous in Kefalonia. If you are lucky you may even see wild horses running around on Ainos mountain, from a rare breed of Pindos.
